Kde style's crash GTK apps *firefox* (suse 9.3)

Hi.

I wanted to use a certain kde style (Baghira), but it crashes GTK apps...Firefox mainly. I think Suse uses something, that tries to use kde styles on gtk programs...and thats causing the problem. How can I disable this? Thanks.

Lol, figures..I already fixed it. It uses a qt-gtk engine thing. I recompiled it from source and all is well.

One other question though...on my desktop, for some reason, tooltips now have a darkred background (like my color scheme)..but the text inside the tooltip is black..so I can't read it. How can I change this?

What did you recompile ? I also use suse 9.3 and I changed window decorations at my gtk apps crash firefox won't even load nor will azureus. The regular mozilla browser loads but as soon as you try to use it it crashes .. firefox I can get buy without although I like it better than the other browsers ... but I really need azureus to work ....

TIA

You may need to install a newer version of gtk-qt theme engine.

Download the newest source and compile it. It'll put a little option in your KDE cpanel too :). That fixes it though...for me atleast.

gtk-qt theme engine

Thanks for all the infomation, I just upgraded to SuSE 9.3 and Firefox and Thunderbird were totally broken. The 'gtk qt theme engine' fixed the mozilla related problems.
