KDE starting in Fedora 9

I'll never post another bugzilla!

Have to create a file!

[root@localhost ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/desktop
[root@localhost ~]#

then reboot (logout/login may do the trick)

for years switchdesk worked (usually after yum install switchdesk)

switchdesk kde or kde2

KDE is in bad shape...Gnome even looks better now!

In Gnome, ntfs and the flash drive show up on the desktop with icons

Dude... It's a good thing you're off bugzilla - for the sake of the people there.
- Yes, there is a problem, but you failed to describe it. You were trying to configure gnome with a kde application. Which is like trying to microwave a burrito and complaining that you can't set the timer on the dishwasher. They try to figure out what the problem really is, and you insult them.
Many people would have simply closed the bug report. They even took the time to re-assign it.

What do you use switchdesk for anyway if you can't tell Gnome from KDE?

Lets keep the thread clean guys.

landonmkelsey, whats the actual question? I've personally reported bugs for Red Hat/Fedora, openSUSE and Mandriva. I've never had any bad attitude as long as I followed the guidelines for filing a bug report. If it seems like you are just having a rant, then sometimes you can get negative responses or be ignored.

Ok, I just got 4 emails by landonmkelsey, and apparently he reported me.

Landonm, the way you dish it out over at bugzilla, you should be able to take a little criticism. Alright, I could have said that more politely, but what the hell, I'm not Gandhi. These people really tried to help you even after you started your rant. They owe you nothing. You get the software for free. They debug it for free. And I see nothing wrong with the way they responded. - For those who didn't follow the link - they were actually very polite.
I filed bug reports that were closed because they attributed it to a different package, I filed another one there, and they closed it referred me back to the original package. Ok, that seems like time well spent, but I'm not screaming "I'll never file a bug report again!!" because of that.
