KDE - Sound (Slackware)

I have successfully used my sound device in Fluxbox which I'm happy with ^^ I went on KDE as I was showing my little brother that windows has something simpler for him. I went to play music at first with Amarok because I love it and the sound didn't work I then proceeded to XMMS which is what I use in Fluxbox and nothing happened again....

I then proceeded to reinstall my audio drivers in KDE using alsaconf and it still never worked even though the drivers were installed. After google for a while I came across someone who had a similar problem and found the problem to be permissions with .dbus in the user home folder, this also never worked, any ideas people??

Its not urgent as I said Fluxbox works for me, and my little brother linux has Gnome installed which he is quite happy with.

type alsamixer and set it up. if you do not have audio in your group then that would be a permission problem for that user. if it works as root then it is a permission problem.
useradd -g audio the name of the user.
the gui way open kde user manager and check the audio box for that user.
