KDE shutdown menu lacks 'reboot' option

I have two computers that have Suse 10 installed on them and during the installation I chose Gnome as the default desktop. I have since switched to KDE and I have a slight problem with the 'Log off' menu. Under the 'K menu' I have 'lock session' and 'log out'. If I choose 'log out' I get the 'end of session for tparks' screen and the only options are 'end current session' and 'cancel'. I have no options to reboot or turn off the computer. If I choose end session then I go to the login screen and I can reboot or shutdown from there but that is a pain.

I just installed Suse 10 on a friend's computer and set KDE as default during the installation and he has the proper menus. Any ideas what I could be missing?

If you had GNOME as default, then you may have GDM as your login manager instead of KDM. Make sure that KDM is installed and then edit /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager and change DISPLAYMANAGER="gdm" to DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm".

My kde does not have it too (using slackware). You can issue in console shutdown -r now (reboot) or shutdown -h now (shutdown). It's much quicker way.

Look in KDE's Control Center / Kde Components / Session manager
for a checkbox to enable Shutdown options
