Open a terminal and type in the following:
sudo apt-get install kde-desktop
When prompted for a password, use your own password. Let it install, log out and choose KDE from the session menu on the login screen.

I think you need to type sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop rather than kde-desktop

If that fails, search for it thru the GUI package manager

Open up synaptic, its the GUI tool for installing stuff

You can access it via System -> Admin - > synaptic

Search for kde and install all the libraries needed for the desktop, it just makes it easier finding the package you need if you dont know the exact name
