KDE/no write access


Hello iv made a cock up some where along the line running slack 10 using Kde when i was using slapt-get to update my system i remember being asked something like do i want to reset all my permisions in directorys i said yes not really understanding what i was saying yes to any way basically this is my problem i log in to my home directory when my comp starts up i type "startx" and get this error message
"the following installation problem was detected while trying to start KDE: nowrite access to $home directory (/home/master) KDE is unable to start.
any help please

Maybe of you change the permission of your home directory recursevily ?

this looks like a doozie

if you have another linux partition with RW access to the partition with the problem try setting the properties of the folder from there

if you dont try booting root=/dev/hdX noinitrd ro

and setting things right form there

ok dont know how i did it i was messing about and i did it some how i wish i new so i could tell others but i canr sorry
