KDE/KDM and fortune???

Is there a version of fortune that will work in KDE (preferably not in a terminal window!)?? Is there an existing program that could be modified to act in a similar manner? Could this be done with Superkaramba? Has anyone successfully set up anything like this?

It would also be nice to have the fortune message displayed in KDM before you login, but that may be asking a bit too much...

thanks in advance,
dbc
