KDE issues

I seem to be having issues one of my users KDE.

I am going to guess that it started when there was a crash with limewire, but I am not certain.

What is happening is that I am getting an error regarding KLauncher.
KLauncher could not be reached via DCOP.

There have been a couple of variations about KLauncher.

Is there a way to repair KDE?

X Window System Version 6.8.2
Release Date: 9 February 2005
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 6.8.2
Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.13 i686 [ELF]
Current Operating System: Linux stealth 2.4.31

--thought that I would add this error, seems more related to the DCOP
There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was:

Could not open networksocket

Please chekc that the "dcopserver" program is running

in the user dir there is a .kde folder, this contains all the user's personalised settings for kde.
delete this and copy the system default .kde folder into the user dir.
[ system default is kept in different locations depending on distro, check root access only folders for it. ]

the user's kde will be like they have never run kde at all.
all app specific settings, like email settings, unless they are stored in the .kde folder [ kmail ] then those are not lost.
