KDE Gnome Desktop Menu Edits (right click on desktop)
I would like to manually edit the menu that pops up when I right click on my KDE and/or Gnome Desktops. Curious if anyone can point me to the text files used for those menus. I have found them in Xfce4, Enlightenment, and Flux, but cannot find them for KDE or Gnome.
Any help would be appreciated. Jim |
I've been interested in this for a while, I don't know how though, so I eagerly away someone's reply :-D

I'm running Fluxbox so I'm not sure 'bout what you're asking.
I can walk you through editing the KDE main menu (ie "Start Menu" like menu) if that's the menu you mean. |
They mean the right-click menu, IE: Right-click on the desktop....
|
In KDE, right-click on the desktop and select Configure Desktop... from that menu. Click on Behavior and change the Right Button from Desktop Menu to Custom Menu 1 or 2. Edit to your heart's content. :-)

anyone know how to do this in gnome?
|
I was just going to ask the same question (regarding Gnome). Does anybody know solution?
Best regards, Dmitry. |
Bump.
Does anyone know how to do this in GNOME? It is hugely important for productivity. |
To edit the menu in gnome, install alacarte

Last time I used Gnome I had to actually open alacarta from the menu rather then right clicking and selecting alacarte. Then I was able to make far more changes to the menu.
