i have suse9.1 pro box
when i upgraded the freetype2 package to freetype2-2.1.9 , the kde font installer crashed ,
and give me the error :

There was an error loading the module
The diagnostics is
Library files for "libkcm_fontinst.la" not found in paths
possible reasons:
An error occurred during your last KDE upgrade leaving an orphaned control module
You have old third party modules lying around
check these points carefully and try to remove the module mentioned in the error message .
if this fails, consider contacting your distributer

now i can not install fonts by the kde control center , i tried to put fonts in my home directory
in ~/.fonts folder but office application did not read these fonts
now i want to install new fonts but i don't know how to solve this problem?

Did you happen to see any dependency issue when you installed the new freetype2 package? Also, was the package designed for SuSE 9.1?

the new freetype is for suse,
i used the command rpm -Uvh freetype2-2.1.9.i586.rpm to upgrade and this did not give me any error
