(KDE)firefox acrobat -> kdm uses all sys resources

when i have acrobat open from a pdf in firefox, and i let my computer sit for a while, in the process table, the 'X' under KDM is using almost all of my user resources... is there any way to change that? is there another plugin to use for pdfs? and how come 1 process can use 90% of my user resources, but it will only be 1% of my system?
