KDE drag/drop from browser: Firefox vs. Konqueror

When I drag/drop from the Konqueror location bar, it makes a "desktop config file" (with url, that opens the url when I click it), like I'd expect. When I do this from Firefox it just makes a useless text file (whereas under Windows it makes a link). Is this just the way it is, or is there a way to make Firefox have the same behavior? How about if I use something other than KDE?

What you need is the Deskcut extension for Firefox:
