KDE Desktop folder, and original Ubuntu splash screen.
In KDE, how can I have the Desktop folder in the Desktop, without any borders, (note that I accidentally removed that folder from the Desktop), just like Gnome? And, how can I have the original brown splash screen for the Gnome Ubuntu, instead of the ugly blue splash screen(I am talking about what appears if "quiet" is appended in the boot options)?

Your post is kinda confusing, are you asking questions related to two different Linux distributions?
Because Ubuntu has Gnome by default, right click on the desktop and select "Change desktop background" to get the default background back in Ubuntu.
In KDE, hit the Kmenu button in the task bar at bottom left, in the menu there should be a little house that represents your home, right click on that icon and select "Add item to desktop". Or you can drag and drop the same icon that may be in the task bar next to the Kmenu button onto the desktop.
Many simple things can be accomplished by right clicking things with your mouse.

Well, it is one distro. I used to use Gnome ubuntu, and then installed kubuntu-desktop, and thats how the ugly kubuntu splash screen appeared in the boot, replacing the default brown ubuntu splash.

Are you running KDE 4.x.y ?
The "Desktop" works very differently in KDE4.
So I'm staying with KDE 3.5.x and kubuntu 8.04.2 (LTS too!)
