After installing Mandrake 9.0 and setting up X to use xinerama. I noticed KDE became very unstable. Sometimes it will not start right and kicker will hang. If i try to run Konsole it will try to start up, the icon will appear in the taskbar with the little hourglass, then after a while it will dissapear. if i try to run it a second time it will fire right up. The Kde control center does not start at all. but just in general most apps seem very unstable, even ones that normally i never have a problem with. I found out that its something to do with Xinerama. I'm running a dual monitor setup, one card is an old ati pci card (im thinking a mach IIc or something) the second card is a GeForce 256. Everything works perfectly when running with both heads configured independantly, but as soon as i turn Xinerama on in my XF86Config-4 the problems with Konsole and the KDE Control Panel return. It works fine in Gnome. I've been running that for a few days without a problem. Has anyone ever heard of this problem or is it just a bug? Thanks for any help!
