KDE 3 Themes
I downloaded some themes from www.themes.org and they won't install. I go to Control Panel -> Look and Feel -> Themes -> Add and I select the theme tarball. It says there is no .themerc file. So I unpack it, and there is an "install.sh" file. So I run it, and it says it installs, but it still isnt there. So, I look around the folders, and find some .themerc files. I go back to the Themes program, go to Add, and go to the unpacked .themerc. But it doesnt show!
WHY CANT I INSTALL THEMES! |
when you unpack the tarball, there should be specific installation instructions for that theme.....

Debian Woody 3.01
KDE 3.0.5a Linux 2.4.18-686 I am having the exact same problem as JoeLinux and cannot find help anywhere. After upgrading to KDE3 from KDE2 the theme manager won't install or change themes. When I try selecting a theme an error appears that says "Theme does not contain a .theme nor a .themerc file". The themes all do in fact contain .themerc files. I've downloaded some themes other than the preinstalled ones to see of they work any better and I get the same error (even when I follow the installation instructions correctly). I've looked at various config files to see if there is something improperly configured, but I haven't found anything so far. This is not a big deal, but I would like to have the ability to configure KDE to the fullest extent (which is one reason I use it). Thanks for any help. |
