KDE 3.2.2 bug on startup - klauncher & kio_devices

I've recently ran Mandrake update on Mandrake 10.0 community which updated KDE to 3.2.2 now when KDE boots I get the error message
"Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_devices'"
Because of this I can no longer access mounted drives like my cdrom, external floppy or CF cards - can anyone point me to a solution, the config files or a log file relating to this please?

Maybe there is a usefull entry in .xsessions-errors in your home-dir.

Check out for clues. You should look at the mandrake-forums too.
