KDE 3.1.3 on RH7.3 (2.4.20-19.7 kernel)

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to install the latest KDE release on RedHat 7.3 with the latest kernel and other updates. I have the following concerns:

1. I couldn't find RH73 binaries, don't know if RH9 binaries would work.

2. Somewhere on KDE.org, they say that "so-called gcc 2.96" compiler is not officially supported. This is the version currently installed on my machine. I don't want to move to RH9, and don't want to upgrade the compiler.

3. I really want to try the new tabbed browsing in Konqueror, but don't especially care about other new stuff (yet). If I cannot install the full KDE, is it possible to install just the browser?
