KDE 3.0 Re-install

If I remove just the KDEBASE-3.0 package and reinstall it, Will it prompt me to configure KDE all over again? The last time I setup KDE 3.0 i did not import all of my old settings thus, changing menus all around, leaving out apps and etc..... Is there and easier way of getting my old settings back?

I would think unless you have a backup copy of /home/yourlogon/.kde your old settings are a gonner. But someone may know better...

Good luck
