kde 3.0.2

I just installed mandrake 8.2 and I want to upgrade kde 2.x (the one inclued) to kde 3.0.2

I went to www.kde.org to dowload it. There were many .rpm files.

Do I have to download them all?

Then, when I will have it downloaded, how can I install it. Im a total newbie to linux and I dont even know how to install programms in linux?

Help me plz.

If you want everything KDE can offer you need most of the packages excluding the ones that are for different locales if you don't want chinese, japanese or else support, the most essential packages are kdebase, kdelibs
libqt, and development packages if you want to modify KDE, read the install guide first http://www.kde.org/documentation/faq/install.html

this is simple. don't. first get used to linux. get use to the kde interface. try to get your printer working. see about that scanner sitting on the desk. go to freshmeat, download, install and run any program. when you are ready to move on to kde3+ then order a distro from someone like linuxcentral. pay the 7+ usd (or equi). i highly recommend against a newbie trying to upgrade themselves from kde2 to kde3.
