kde 2 config windows larger than screen.
 

hi,
So kde 2 on debian woody distro. this is all on an ibm thinkpad 570 2644-CDU. All is well and debian seems to resolved most of my problems allthough package management seems to need some help in the recomends vs. depends area. Yet my little anoyense is that when kde opens a config window say for mozilla or anything else for that matter, it makes it larger than my current screen. I have seen this before but the other time in afterstep I could go to the next desktop and view the rest of my window. Here in is the problem. I can not for the life of me find a way to access the remainder of the window.

So how do I set a firm size for windows that can not be disobeyed in kde2 or with gtk so that no matter how big the window wants to be it must stay inside the viewable desktop?

The big part of this is anyone who has used M$ win knows that the pop ups usally hide the kill button by going outside of the desktop range. I don't want window zzz.

Can't say about fixing a maximum size but..

You can grab the window by holding ctrl (or is it alt?) and the left (i think) mouse button anywhere on the window, nice. (thus being able to move the unseen portion into view.)


[If you're not running your maximum resolution then you can change with [ctrl] with + or - keys. [edit] guess you already know that]

the alt left click works well, and it solves the problem but I guess I am just a perfectionest and seek the window size to be the maximum size and no more. but that was a feature of kde I was unaware of.
