Kde's sound system sucks

Hey all,

Does anyone else have nothing but problems with Kde's sound system turned on? I always have to turn it off after a while after a program I use doesn't work for some sound-related reason (xmms, mplayer, amarok, etc). What's the deal? Is it because I'm using onboard sound with the Epox 8rda motherboard? Or does alsa and kde's sound system just suck?

I never could get two programs to play sound at once...

Just felt like ranting.

Kde 3.3.1
Debian Unstable
