Kazza X, Kazaa light £££, How do I get free MP3?

When I was using Windows I used Kazaa to get MP3's. Can anyone suggest how I can get MP3s with Linux. I am not an expert so be gentle . I don't want to pay kazaa light to do what I could before do for free. I tried gftp, kget and lftp and did not get much of a result, as I guess they are meant to work on a lan not the wan.
If anyone has created a script for kazaa to work on linux or cracked kazza light registration please let me know. I have tried wine and with no success. Surely there has got to be a way I can get MP3s without installing windows or paying each month for kazaa light.

If anything that I have suggested breaks copyright laws then I am ignorant of that law and would not break it on knowledge of its existance. If I in any way seem to be breaking a law or encouraging the breaking of a law, than I am only roleplaying. I suggest that everyone reading this stays within the boundaries of copyright law as I do myself.

u could use apollon which is a p2p program than connects to OpenFT, Gnutella, FastTrack (Kazaa)
go to : http://apollon.sourceforge.net/files.html
and download the all-in-one installer (apollon-dist.tar.bz2)
then untar it using ark or any other way u like
to install it just open a console and go to the place where u extracted it and type
./install.sh

I use limewire, since its java based, it is essetialy platform independant. I have a slackware 9.1 box and it seems to work really well. I have not tried apollon as the previous post recomended but I think I may give that a try tonight as well.

Get an older version of Kazaa. There should not be any problem:

http://www.oldversion.com/

1.7.2 will install on Linux just fine with wine though... follow this tutorial:

http://www.eskimo.com/~wage/kazaa.html

good luck!

I'd have to say Apollon is the way to go...you can connect to the FastTrack network (Kazaa, although I think it is somewhat limited), OpenFT, gnutella, with the appropriate giFT plugins. As a newbie it may take a little work to get it up and running, but stick with it.

another option i can give you is to download via irc using warez channels in undernet, you'll get tons of mp3s and books you want without installing kazaa.
