KAudioCreator Troubles
I run SuSe 9.1 Pro on an IBM T30 laptop. I've been using KAudioCreator to rip CDs to my hard-drive with no difficulty for months. Yesterday, however, I installed a series of KDE updates. The result is that: (1) KAudioCreator runs insufferably slow, and (2) it's unable to retrieve CD album and track information from cddb. Neither condition exited previously. The look-up problem also afflicts KsCD, the CD player.
I've checked the cddb settings. They seem fine. It clearly not a cddb server issue because my other CD player retrieves the information.
I have no idea what to do to check the ripping speed itself.
Any ideas?
All is not lost because I've installed Sound Juicer, which rips fine. However, it's not good for Linux/SuSe/KDE as products when simple updates break that which worked.
