Kate OS 2.x install help

I am very new to linux I have tryed one distro before Redhat 5.0 a few years back, more recently a distro caught my eye its name is Kate OS so I ordered the CD's to avoid writeing new ones from the site.

Now I assumed partioning and setting up would be simple like Red hat 5.0 but I got to step one partitioning the Hard drive and I am like a person who needed a MAC back in the 80's I have no idea how to format Hard drives out of MS DOS and this really shows can anyone maybe walk me through the installation process step by step?
