i am a php developer / web server administrator etc by professiona.
secuirty is vital on these subjects. so i heard kali has bundled with tools that will help to test the security on various aspects related to our profession.

you will find that a vm install is not recommended
you can , but....

no cuda support nor openCL

and a lot of the tools use nvidia'a CUDA

install to the drive or to usb drive ( with persistence)
and a ENCRYPTED drive ( full drive encryption ) is recommended
