Kaffiene media player problems
 

I'm running Kaffine 0.4.1 and when I try to play windows media video files, I get "xine error: no demux plugin". I'm new to Linux, and am wondering how to solve this....

install codecs.

since kaffeine uses xine, you can try the rpms here - http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/

it used to be that you could get codecs from either xine or mplayer and they'd work for both. i recently tried using mplayers codecs and xine couldn't play certain formats anymore, so i gave the link that uses codecs distrubuted by xine. of course you could get the all-in-one codecs from mplayer and see if they'll work.

Installed those codecs.... and it works great!
