kaffeine won't play mpg in suse 9.1

i've installed win32 codecs and kaffeine won't play mpg files... what do i do wrong? do i need other codecs?

Covered on a prior post

This thread covers what you need in order to install the packman repositories. Do a search for mpg and you'll find the rpms that need to be installed. The win codecs generally refer to avi.
