Kaffeine DVB and paytv
Is there a possibility to watch encrypted DVB stations using a smartcard and common interface with Kaffeine?
If not, is there any other way like cardsharing to do so? I think under vdr it is possible...... Thanks for answers, cu |
I tryed to use many keys like (Softcam and viaccess) by putting them
in (.kde/share/apps/kaffeine......) but it has failed !!! |
Is mythTV the only way to watch payTV ? or can i do it in Kaffeine?

Just insert your smartcard in the cam, and zap to your paytv channels. |

Running Slackware 12 here, in the UK with a Dragon/T.REX CI and CAM combo for Sky TV. Kaffeine only decodes the free-to-view channels, and completely ignores the CAM in the CI. I double click any of them, and I just get a black screen.
I'm stuck with MythTV which whilst it is a fine solution, I really don't want to record EVERYTHING I watch, just wasted wear and tear on my disks. I was thinking of trying to set up a cardsharing solution on my local box (using my legit card) and getting Kaffeine to utilise that, but I haven't gotten around to investigating that yet. Any help with the Kaffeine/encryption issue would be most welcomed! |
