Kudzu checks for any new hardware configuration when you add/remove hardware components from your system, and it configures the system (if it can and drivers for new hardware are available on the system) to satisfy new configuration. Decide for yourself if you need it on every startup, I am keeping it in a closet, if I need to configure new hardware I turn it on.
