K3B - Won't Burn Specific MP3s

K3B burns almost every MP3 on my system flawlessly. I do have a directory of about 40 or 50 though, that when dragging and dropping, I get an error about the file type not being supported. I searched around and do have all the proper Plug-ins installed (both MAD and LAME).

Could these MP3s just be whack? The play just fine in WinAmp on Windows and MPlayer in Linux.

They were all ripped on the same day using FreeRip on my Win200 machine at work and then VS FTPed to my home PC.

If the MP3s are bad, any utilities that can repair them?

Specs:

System -
PIII 550
500 Megs RAM
Fedora Core I
KDE 3.2
K3B 0.11.9

Thanks,

i've experienced the same thing, the sound files play nicely, but wont burn. perhaps i'll be able to find something on this, now that I know it's not an isolated case. One thing i've noticed though, is that the files mp3 and ogg that wont burn in k3b also wont in nero.

goldennuggets,

Thanks for the reply. Misery loves company.

Can I ask, did u rip these problem files? If so, using what?

Maybe I'll give Easy CD Creator a whirl, if I can find a Windows Box with Burner here at work.

I used cdex to rip some, some downloaded from the net, ogg and mp3.

Figured out a very lame work around.

I downloaded Audacity, opened the "bad" MP3 files and exported them as MP3. They burned fine after that. Pain in the ass, though.

heck, not a bad work around...but like u say...a pain! Thanks.

I have the same problema about burning MP3 files, i though that i can do the same thing the same way as Nero burning , just drag the mp3 file and the burn it. But i get the same error about the :

Unable to handle the following files due to an unsupported format:

Is there any way that i can burn mp3s directly in K3B or othe prog. ??? without having to change de format of the mp3 to .wav with other soft. or manually?
