K3B won't back up hidden directories

Hi,
K3B is a so-so product, but I've had one constant problem with this software, in that it refuses to include any hidden directories in the backup, even as root. I can see no "switch" or other means of selecting this option, so can someone please tell me how to get K3B to do this?

Thanks,
Robert

Hi Robert, and welcome to LQ!

Actually k3b isn't that bad (for a GUI tool, that is) :)

I'm not quite sure if that's correct, but it may well be
a problem of the ISO standard ... my understanding is
that ISO only accepts 8.3 names, chances are that
the .<whatever> is plain simple not a valid name for
ISO ... try changing the session settings to ROCKRIDGE.

Cheers,
Tink

Thanks, Tink,
I'll try that solution. In the interim, I've simply used tar to create the backup and K3B to store the tarball to the CD-ROM.

Appreciate it,
Robert

Hey Tink, I can't find where in any of the settings that I'm supposed to select the RockRidge setting.
Can you tell me where I find this choice?

Thanks,
Robert
