Post k3b will not open and get no error


I am unable to open k3b after installing mepis to hard drive.. if i boot from cd its good but nothing happens when i try after installing mepis to hard drive..
Also i tryed to upgrade and went to k3b sit got most resent file and get this error when trying to configure..Aidan@15[k3b-0.11.24]$ ./configure

is this your first distro? mepis?


what brought you to mepis? have you thought of using another distro such as ubuntu or mandrake to start? i would suggest starting there...

very first liux experince..

well mepis is supposed to be one of the best up and coming linux systems .. to be frank i have no idea where to start .. i have been using windows since the beginning and stopped with DOS at release 7 when Win 3.11 came out .. so i just want to see what the talk is about with this linux point and click revolution.. so any advice would be great ..

I've also heard that mepis is a very good newbie distro. I do believe it's based on debian, so to install k3b all you should need to do is run 'apt-get install k3b'. Are you trying to run k3b from the command line? If not do so, it may tell you what the problem is.
