I've tried installing K3B from source and from a Slackware package (I'm using Slackware 10, kernel 2.6.7-ck6), and I still get this message (in its own little window), alongside the splash screen, every time I start it up:
Quote:
kde seems to already be running on this display.

After clicking "OK" 22 times, k3b finally shuts down.
If I run it as root, I don't get the message. Instead, k3b starts up normally, but it spawns another instance of KDE right over the top of the one I'm using! Everything smashes up to the top of the screen (and off of it) and I have to switch to another tty and kill kde and k3b in order for my computer to become usable again. This happens regardless of whether I'm in KDE, Gnome or XFCE.
The only error message I get when running this in the konsole occurs after I clicked "OK" for the 22nd time and k3b finally closes.

Has anybody an idea on why this is happening, or what I should do to get around it?
