k3b set to dvd+r RW DL but need dvd+r RW

i want to burn my music to a dvd to back up. in order to do so i must have k3b to burn to a dvd+R RW. when i go to burn the disk it states "please insert an empty or appendable double layer dvd+-rw medium" how do i change this to be able to read and be able to wright to my dvd+r RWs

another thing is when i start k3b i get this error message stating

Mp3 Audio Decoder plugin not found.
K3b could not load or find the Mp3 decoder plugin. This means that you will not be able to create Audio CDs from Mp3 files. Many Linux distributions do not include Mp3 support for legal reasons.
Solution: To enable Mp3 support, please install the MAD Mp3 decoding library as well as the K3b MAD Mp3 decoder plugin (the latter may already be installed but not functional due to the missing libmad). Some distributions allow installation of Mp3 support via an online update tool (i.e. SuSE's YOU).

what can i do to fix these help!!!!

Sounds to me like you're exceeding the capacity of the DVD. I just tried it, and as soon as I went over 4.3GB, the message changed from DVD+/-R to DVD+/-R DL. So drop some files until the total is less than 4.3GB.

As for the second problem, why don't you just do what the message says? Find and install libmad, and it should start working. For more info, try searching the site or google it. The topic of mp3 support on Linux comes up more often than you can believe.
