K3B ram memory use all burn blu-ray ...?
The question is about K3B and ram memory. I have 8 gig of ram. I want k3b to use all of the ram.
Now for some of the problems. I am running a hard drive installed version of Knoppix 32 bit which only sees 3.2 gig of ram. 0.27 gig is being used by knoppix. So, it would help if I could use about 3 gig of ram. I will be burning a blu-ray data disk. I do not know how knoppix has set up the ram. I did not change it's defaults. I saw a setting called settings, "advanced settings", "manual writing buffer size". Also I saw a setting called "default temporary directory: /tmp/kde-knoppix/". Or do I need to change settings for one of the underlying programs such as cdrecord, growisofs, etc.? 2012-03-14th 19:17 Pacific Time K3B ram memory use all burn blu-ray ...? |
I wonder if you ran pae on it and used the extra ram as a ramdrive. Then set that ramdrive as swap.
Not sure you will ever get close to the 8 gig. I'd guess the limit of k3b is still kind of low. |
