k3b problems burning DVDs

Hi all. I recently bought a laptop with a dvd-burner, so I'm using k3b to burn dvds for the first times.
The problem I have is that I'm able to burn only some dvds. I mean that now, I tried about 10 dvds, and only 4 worked. The error I'm getting is this:

Code:
 growisofs
-----------------------
:-( /dev/hdc: media is not recognized as recordable DVD: 0

growisofs comand:
-----------------------
/usr/bin/growisofs -Z /dev/hdc -use-the-force-luke=notray -use-the-force-luke=tty -use-the-force-luke=dao -dvd-compat -speed=2.0 -gui -graft-points -volid K3b data project -volset -appid K3B THE CD KREATOR VERSION 0.11.24 (C) 2003 SEBASTIAN TRUEG AND THE K3B TEAM -publisher -preparer K3b - Version 0.11.24 -sysid LINUX -volset-size 1 -volset-seqno 1 -sort /tmp/kde-luca/k3bxgT4ma.tmp -rational-rock -hide-list /tmp/kde-luca/k3bZBdsNb.tmp -full-iso9660-filenames -iso-level 2 -path-list /tmp/kde-luca/k3b02DHUb.tmp
I read about this error in other threads on this site, but I couldn't find any good solutions anyway. The DVDs I'm using are DVD-R and DVD-RW, which should be correct. I can't understand why some DVDs from the package works, whereas the others doesn't. Does someone have any suggestion?
Thanks for any help in advance.

Maybe they are just cheap DVD's. I used to have similar problems with CD-Rs. I bougth a cheap batch and about 1/2 wouldn't even record data ( windows or linux ).

This is possible, I didn't know. I don't know anything about the behaviour under windows, 'couse I don't have it and so no possibility to test. I'll buy some better quality dvds. Thanks.
