I used the same writer and media under Nero without problems, so this couldn't really be the issue.

What is the speed rating on the drive and the media? Also, what speed did you set it to burn at?

The drive says: 52x/24x/52x, the medium is a CD-RW and says: 4x-12x multispeed.
The speed is set to 52x in k3b

I still did not solve this issue. I've tried with older cd-rw discs (1x-2x-4x multispeed) and they give no problem.
