this is my proble . i do know that you can add devices to k3b by going to settings --> configuration --> devices --> add. the trouble is that i don't know what to write there. /dev/cdrom and /dev/hdc give me can not find an additional device at...
any help appriciated.
ps k3b does support my burnes as i wrote several cds with it, the trouble is that i wrote in my terminal something that made k3b stop working.

Maybe you messed k3b up to the point where it would be easier to remove it and reinstall.
Anyway, k3b on my system autodetects /dev/hdd and /dev/hdc.
If you run the command: dmesg | grep hd , do you see the cdrom devices listed?
If you run the command: cdrecord --scanbus , what does it come up with?
does running running rpm -e k3b and tha apt-get install k3b count as reinstalling it? if so reinstalling the program doesn't help.

so did my, but than i f*cked up something in my terminal. for some reason i can't edit my above post so if a mod could disable smilies in it i would appriciate it.
thank you for you help, but when this thread was started i was on fedora, since than i switched to slack and now i'm using debian. since that day never had any troubles with k3b.
