I performed a fresh slackware install, and I thought I'd give XFCE a try. I noticed its the default environment for both Phlak and GentooX (for Xbox) which is where I first started playing with it. I have to say I'm impressed with its speed as well as how it uses almost no memory (compared to Gnome at least).
I was just wondering if there are any special apps, themes, configuration tricks or other tools useful to a new XFCE user. I have noticed that this desktop environment has its small quirks, especially the xffm file manager, but I'm getting used to it rather quickly.
As for the file manager aspect, I hate XFCE's file manager, I use XFE (X File Explorer). Check out XFCE's webpage, xfce.org, I remember something there about addon stuff. I don't remember exactly.
Thanks a lot guys. Checked out everything you mentioned and I'm impressed. Those berlios plugins are great too. Its the first xmms panel plugin I've seen thats actually worth using. Looks like I'll be sticking with XFCE for some time.
