just curious.......

Anyone use linux on a floppy? If so what do you use it for?

acid_kewpie 06-07-2009 04:10 PM

rescue disks like tomsrtbt fit on a 1.44, also a large number of tiny firewall distros and similar exist for low end hardware.

Yeah that is the question!

This is not alt codes at all.
Nor different language on the keyboard. (Mongolian ==>>ытйжэйыы)

It looks like a picture.

The editor can't understand the characters.(me neither)

Yes, but it is becoming rarer. you can purcahse usb floppy drives. I use pxe so much, I hardly use a floppy except on old clunkers.

I was curious because I haven't bought a new PC for a while (my newest is a P4), but I also haven't used a floppy since I upgraded a 486DX2-80 with an aftermarket CD burner (too long ago to try to recall). ;)

Cheers
