Just a simple text editor
I'm looking for a text editor. Just a simple one. Much like KDE's kEdit.
I don't want to install Gnome libraries, nor do I wish to install KDE libraries. I use XFCE. Any ideas? I've been searching and can't seem to find anything good. Either it's outdated or fails to work. |
if you are too prone for vi or emacs, try pico it is a prt of pine package, it is very simplistic and doesn't require mind blowing decisions to save a file.

Beaver or Nedit

nano, pico, or nedit

Hmm. Well, via console I always use VI. But I require a complementary GUI text editor as well, for various reasons.
I tried Nedit. The current version is 5.3. It fails to compile against the newest LessTif libraries due to deprecated function calls. |
I just got nedit working. I'll try this out for now.
Thanks :P |
