JetDirect print server setup

For those of you who wanted to shoot themselves setting this thing up because you couldn't get it to print without installing the software... Let me tell you where I had issues. I didn't install the software. I am using a Netgear WGR614 router. One issue is that the jetdirect print server assigns the printer a IP address of 192.0.0.192 and most SOHO networks run 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.51. I haven't discovered yet how to change the Jetdirect address but I changed the router to 192.0.0.190 to what ever...

then ran CUPS and tested a print... Wow...

A crazy man has special friends....

Have a nice day...

Usually you just set a PC to an address on that subnet temporarily so you can configure it via telnet or http. Then you can put the server and your machine back on the right subnet.
