Jet Direct Printer with CUPS
 

Dear all

I have Sharp Printer model-AR 161, to it connected a Print Server hardware to it's parallel port. The print server connected to it's parallel port.
The printserver support port 9100, 631.

I have a Redhat Enterprise Linux 4.0 to create print share, using samba and my windows clients should use the linux print share,

But i am unable to install printer on Linux.

i have downloaded the sharp Printer model ppd from CUPS site.
sh160mh.ppd.gz
i used
lpadmin -p netprint -E -p /usr/share/cups/model/sh160mh.ppd -v socket://192.168.129.101:9100

and my windows clients are using the printer using \\mylinuxip\netprint and installed windows drivers for sharp model-AR 161

but unable to print. The job is coming to linux server but still unable to print .
i tried with all the PPD's below but unable to print
Sharp-AR-161-lj5gray.ppd.gz
Sharp-AR-161-lj5mono.ppd.gz
Sharp-AR-161-ljet4.ppd.gz
Sharp-AR-161-pxlmono.ppd.gz


Please guide me

Thanks for your reply but the link that you have given, i have already followed it, and downloaded all the PPD's in that particular link. but still i am unable to print
