jboss sitting-duck problem
What's up, guys?
Look... I bet this problem has a very simple answer.. yet I can't see how to solve it.
I'm just learning about EJBs.
Downloaded Ed Roman's book and I'm starting on the first example.
Got the Hello bean deployed... and got to compile and run the client application, however, it stops on a network exception. Let me explain the "topology" of my network:
I have a nic. eth0. This nic has this IP addr: 192.168.0.2. However, normally I don't have it connected to another device. so when I do ifconfig I get this:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:20:E0:6E:87:B8
UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:8 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:7 carrier:0
collisions:0
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:336 (336.0 b)
Like it has no address. However If i plug it to a network, I instantly get the address I told you about.
also... the local loop:
lo Link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
RX packets:7723 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:7723 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0
RX bytes:1327321 (1.2 Mb) TX bytes:1327321 (1.2 Mb)
now.... when I run the client, it always complains about the network. The message says (shortly):
javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.rmi.ConnectIOException: Exception creating connection to: 192.168.0.2; nested exception is:
java.net.NoRouteToHostException: No route to host]
Of course.. it catches my attention that the JNDI is telling my client to go through 192.168.0.2, when it's not even "ifconfig-ed". Can anybody tell me how to make jboss forget about this address and use the local loop instead?
Thank you in advance!
