java programs (LimeWie, Azureus etc) loading extremely slow

Since a few days, my java programs are loading extremely slow. LimeWire takes about 5 min to load! Running them seems to go fine. The problems seem to have occured when upgrading my kernel to 2.6.14. Does anyone know what could be the solution or cause to this problem?

EDIT: java-version = sun's jre1.5.0_05

Strangely enough, the problem disappeared after a reboot.... Still don't know what the cause was tough.
