java plugins installation
im having a problem installing the web start...

im trying to install the java plugins in mozilla-1.6.1

i extracted the in "/usr/local"

what path should i use in this.....i tried to to type /usr/local/java/jdk1.2 but have an error

Well, it sounds like you haven't created those directories. When you run are you running it as root? That usually allows the program to create the directories it needs.

Don't install java web services, install the jre or sdk, and then create a soft link from $mozilla_home/plugins to $java_home/jre/plugin/i386/ns4/

Web services are for processing xml, soap, etc (yawn)

You shouldn't have a problem with the installation though unless you don't have rights to the directory that you are specifying
