Hi. Ok, so as the subject reads, Java does appear to work, but not on all sites. I don't know if I didn't symlink correctly, or what, or if I need to install something else, so here's what I have.
Oh, btw this is in Galeon and Mozilla.
So, I have 'javaplugin.so' symlinked in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and it's pointing to:
/usr/local/bin/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns4/javaplugin.so as shown here:
Code:
masterc@masterc:/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins$ ls -l
total 940
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 2363 Sep 21 10:58 ShockwaveFlash.class
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 53 Oct 24 09:28 javaplugin.so -> /usr/local/bin/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns4/javaplugin.so*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 931920 Sep 21 10:57 libflashplayer.so*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 18776 Jun 5 2002 libnullplugin.so*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30 Oct 24 09:31 rpnp.so -> /usr/local/RealPlayer8/rpnp.so*
So, am I missing something? Should I not symlink it, but copy it over, or should I symlink something else as well, or something else entirely? Oh, also, when I do the "about
lugins" in the web browser, I get this:
ftp://masterc.no-ip.org/pics/java.png
Is that supposed to be a
@@ Plug-in 1.4.1-b21? The question marks are what I am wondering about.
Anyway, if you want more info, let me know I will be glad to provide it.
Thanks
<ok split second update>
I symlinked the libjavaplugin_oji.so to the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory from the /usr/local/bin/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/ figuring maybe the latest version of netscape plugin might do the job, but still a no-go. So I tried the one gen back, from the ns600 directory, but still nothing.
