Question Java Plugin?

OK - when I go to www.autotrader.com, I can't see any images and I think it's a Java plugin/script that I am missing. When I enlarge the box where the image of the car would be, the status bar on that window says Java Scripts.

I am using Firefox 1.5.0.1 and don't know what plugin I need or am missing.

Can anyone please help me?

You don't mention what linux distribution you are using.
You can install manually anyway java and the java plugin, or the flash plugin if this is what you are missing. For java go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp You will find installation instructions there. For the flash plugin: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/...ShockwaveFlash
To see what plugins you have installed in your firefox type
Code:
about:plugins
in the address bar

That site doesn't use Java, from what I can tell.

Does this page work for you:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=15

If not, make sure you don't have JavaScript restrictions in place since JavaScript is used to display the larger versions of images.

Maybe post which Firefox extensions you have installed.

Peace...

I don't have any firefox extension installed. It's a clean install of the latest version.

Here is the link you posted from what I see. I don't know why I can't see it.

Code:
workstation:~# java -version
java version "1.4.2"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.0.3 20051204 (prerelease) (Debian 4.0.2-5j2)

Ok, try this. See the thumbnails above the "View larger pictures" link? Right-click on one and click "View Image" and post a screenshot of what you see. Also, click "Tools/Javascript console" and make sure there are no messages there.

If there are messages in the JavaScript console, click the "clear" button to clear them and then reload that page.

JavaScript is NOT related to your Java environment.

Peace...
