Javascript mouse over in mozilla/netscape

I have noticed that since I started using linux, when I go to a website that uses javascript and javascript mouse overs, I do not get the desired functionality. When your run your mouse over a link that is supposed to change as mouse is passed over it, it either disapeers or just doesn't work. Some pages just plain dont display it correctly at all.
Is there another plugin besides the standard plugin for java that will enable me to view and interact with these pages correctly?
Or is there a way to add a bit of code to the page to make it more compatible with netscape/mozilla?

It is very important that I find a fast easy fix for this, or I will have to use windoze on several hundred computers out of country. EEK! $$$

I greatly appreciate any help you can give me on this issue.
