java installation on linux

cud u help me how to install j2sdk on to the linux 7.1

Download j2sdk from sun and then make it executable:

chmod u+x j2sdk*

then install it by doing:

./j2sdk*

The installer is pretty easy from there.

thanx for ur reply but i am troble in this line :

j2sdk-1_4_1_02-fcs-linux-i586.rpm

Install the SDK.

rpm -ivh j2sdk-1_4_1_02-fcs-linux-i586.rpm

The SDK is now installed

now i didn't get wat to do ....

Try typing whereis javac. If it comes up with something you have the java compiler. Happy programming

If you were looking for the mozilla plugin I have no idea because I installed using blackdown's java.
